[comp.sys.amiga.misc] Setting file bits

earl@motcid.UUCP (Brent R. Earl) (03/19/91)

I was playing through my directories on my a2000 when I found some amigados files
that had been set "sarwed" these files would run without the "execute" command.

When I tried to copy a file then edit it over to my liking, the file bits were
"rwed". How do I go about setting the file bits back so I can just type in the
file name for execution? (typical lazy computer person)

That's because they had the "s" bit (=> Script) set.
To set the script bit on your favorite file, use

protect filename +s
