The sustained device-level transfer rate with a Quantum 52 LPS and an A2630 (!), as tested at bsc's booth by one of their software-engineers (Stephan von Krawczynski) using their own benchmark during the AmiExpo '90 in Cologne, was ~1050 Kbytes/sec for reads (1-meg chunks). Using the same harddisk and the same benchmark, a GVP Series-II on a standard 68000-based A500 came in at ~1150 Kbytes/sec. Ralph

Ok, here's the catalog from the guys at Pre'spect technology.
My I remind you that I have nothing to do with them, I'm not even
a customer yet. Have fun!

The FileRunner [tm] Box is an external HD system for the amiga 500/1000.
It includes an ALF RG or AG controller. This system comes already installed
in a housing. The heavy duty version stands beside the amiga. Each can
accomodate a second drive, and they include their own power supply. The
controller runs drives of up to 1 GB capacity.
The HD formatted interleave is 1:1, and the transfer rate will be aprox.
400 - 420 K/sec, and the SCSI version will run up to 650 K/sex with a Quantum
drive, the actual rate will depend on the drive and it's capacity. We
installed WB 1.3 and use one partition. The ALF2 software package comes on two
floppies.

Warning: This is a bare bones board and is only for advanced users. $ 79
Pre'spect EXP board - This board is developed to be used first of
all in the workstation 500. It gives a true A2000 slot and same pass
through. Two versions are available:
