[comp.sys.amiga.misc] amiga relay at udel

tjhayko@THUNDER.LAKEHEADU.CA (04/10/91)

I've signed on to the news forwarding list amiga-relay@udel.edu
last summer, and now my account is going to expire soon. To
avoid bouncing messages back to the list, how do I sign off?
Also, for a few of my friends, what is the correct address to
sign on to this list?

Tom, here is what I've gotten from them by just hit-and-miss messages.

amiga-relay-request@udel.edu is not a list-server, I administer it by
hand. There are actually several separate lists (note that all addresses
are @udel.edu):

Newsgroup Posting address

comp.sys.amiga amiga-relay
comp.sys.amiga.games amiga-games-relay
comp.sys.amiga.hardware amiga-hardware-relay
comp.sys.amiga.tech amiga-programmer-relay

If you want to subscribe to one or more amiga-relay list, send a message
indicating which lists to amiga-relay-request. You should then start
receiving those groups, within about a week. Note that total traffic
on all of the groups is usually more than 100 messages/day. Problems,
unsubscription requests, suggestions, gripes, etc. should all go to
amiga-relay-request@udel.edu.

Important: I do not read amiga-relay-request every day, especially
over weekends. Therefore, do not expect a request to be processed
immediately.

You can also post messages to comp.sys.amiga* newsgroups by mailing
them to the appropriate posting address mentioned above.

Future plans: the comp.sys.amiga hierarchy is about to be reorganized.
The number of separate newsgroups will soon be increasing from four
to fifteen. I will mail out an announcement when this happens.
