[comp.sys.amiga.misc] Animation on NewTek DemoReel 3

dave@cs.arizona.edu (Dave Schaumann) (04/11/91)

Anyone know how the animation was done on NewTek's DemoReel 3? I found
the iff files that contain the individual frames, but I don't have a
clue about what file(s) are used to animate them.

Any advice/tutorials/pointers would be greatly appreciated...

I'm not certain about the diskette files, but I can tell you that
the author of that demo reel and others uses The Director to do the
finishing work on the demos. I was fortunately enough to catch a
talk he gave at AmiExpo LA, and he showed some of his work. He
uses a variety of tools but repeatedly said that he swears by
the Directors ability to bring it all together. The Director
has also recently come out with a major upgrade (At least in terms
of version number) to 2.0.

As with most amiga artists, I presume that the initial stuff was done
with DeluxePaint 3. Did the NewTek DigitFX program advertised in the
reel ever masterialise?
