I also noticed the "broken keyboard" problem when I first got my
A3000. You'll not that it only happens after doing a cold boot
to switch from 1.32 to 2.0x or vice versa...

The only fix I have discovered (though I want to try unplugging
and replugging the keyboard as you said) is to be ABSOLUTELY
sure that the machine remains powered off for a complete minute
before turning it back on again (real pain in the ass, too).
Waiting the full sixty seconds has ALWAYS worked, and the caps
lock key is lit properly again instead of flashing. Hope that
helps.

The jittery monitor, I have been un able to stop from jittering,
yet! Other than the rare case of jitters, my 1950 / 3000 puts
out gorgeous video with truely black blacks (my strain of color-
blindness requires high contrast and true blacks); and I am
happy with it usually. I have been told that adjusting the "15
turn" screw in the back of the machine, with the included tool
would stop the jitters, I keep trying, but have not managed
to find the correct position yet... :-) The problem does
certainly go away if one does NOT use overscan or (as you said)
shrinks the display area to a smaller size.

Just trying to help...
