[comp.sys.amiga.misc] Monitors for A3000

Kevin <ST101883@brownvm.brown.edu> (05/06/91)

I will be buying an A3000 soon with the trade up offer
and I was wondering what monitor I should purchase.
Will the 1950 be able to handle future resolutions, graphics
chips, etc.? Does anyone out there have a monitor of choice?(cost)?
Also, how much is the 1950 with Edu. discount? I was told
by a dealer that I couldn't buy _just_ the monitor under
the educational discount (he said I would also have to purchase
CPU under edu. prices). Is this true?
Thanks in advance :-)

The Educational Discount Program has changed. You can now buy peripherals
without buying a CPU. Either you asked your dealer before it changed, or
he doesn't know about it. With the change in the program, you have to pay
sales tax, but you get the merchandise right then and there from the dealer's
stock. The last Ed. Price I saw for an A1950 was about $500. This will
ultimately be up to your dealer, though.

The A1950 is $520 on educational. It will handle all
current Amiga screen modes. And your dealer is wrong. Ask the
dealer to check with Commodore, and if they refuse to do that in
a prompt manner, after asking for the manager and bitching your
heart away, leave.
