Regarding John Hevelin's net.space article,"On Rats and Sinking Ships"

It just slays me that aborition-on-demand is packaged along with
save-the-whales, save-the-baby-seals, and so on as part of liberalism.
I won't reiterate the various right-to-life arguments here, since
most people have probably heard them, but to me, they (the arguments)
make a lot of sense. The only place I depart from them is at the conclusion.
I don't accept the idea of an ultimate moral authority. If we want to
have slaves or kill our offspring or whatever we can talk ourselves into
believing is OK, that's our prerogative.

I'm just amazed that liberals are so adroit in denying the essential
nature of abortion. I'm reminded of Chief Dan George's line in
Little Big Man:

"The Indian believes that everything is alive ...
the White Man doesn't believe that anything is alive - not even himself."
