[comp.sys.amiga.misc] Self-booting programs?

AAW360@uriacc.uri.edu (Jeff Beaubien) (05/12/91)

Are there any PD programs out there that allow you to install a program
onto the boot block? If so, could someone please direct me to their
location?

What I'm looking to do is to make certain programs, like Handshake self-
loading, once I put the disk in the drive and power up. Is this possible?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Maybe I'm missing something, but why not just launch it from your
startup-sequence file? Editing s:startup-sequence sure seems a lot
easier than editing the boot block to me...

Sounds like what you want to do is put Handhsake into the Startup-
Sequence on that disk, rather than play with boot blocks. Startup-Sequence
is a screipt file in your S: directory that gets executed each time that
disk is booted. All you have to do is go in with your favorite text editor
and change it to run your program.

Well there isn't anything to my knowledge that will auto runt he program but
you can type [withought the quotes] "install device (ie df1: df0:)" then
make a start up and put asll the needed files on the disk.
