Like many of you, I'm interested in the Power Up program and want to know a few things to help decide what configuration of hardware I need. Q1. Do any of you know the scan rate needed to support the ULowel graphics card? I may want to move up in the UNIX world when it becomes available and don't want to need a new monitor. Q2. Have any of you used a Samsung 17" multisync with an A3000, and how does it work? (Other >14" high scan multisync that qualify may be mentioned too :-) ). I like larger displays, preferable flattish, and the specs on this might be what I need for Q1. Q3. What deals/satisfaction have you found in SCSI tape drives, especially in comparison to the A3070? Q4. Are there any interesting alternatives to the 150MB cartridges, such as DAT variants that are close to being affordable? ... On the lower end, what is available in removable hard disks? Q5. How practical is the PARNET connection between an A3000 and an A1000 for every day use? I intend to keep the old standby and would like some way for transfers. A6. Alternatively, are there any old A1000 Ethernet controllers around still? Do they have bus pass-thrus for keeping a HD controller and memory expansion? E-Mail responses are welcome. I'd be glad to summarize if people want to hear.
