I just ordered the 1.3 ROM chip for my 500. The mail order place does not supply documentation with the chip, however. Is it fairly obvious where the chip is to be installed? Anyone willing to share some pointers with me? Thanks. Tom Kuchar kuchar@buast7.bu.edu Department of Astronomy Boston Univerity

I haven't had mine open for a while, but most of the chip names are printed on the board and I think the ROM is too. That is, "ROM" should be printed above (below?) the socket with the 1.2 ROM in it. Standard precautions apply -- make sure you're grounded (or at least discharged), and make sure you plug the chip in the right way (the way the old one was.) -- * From the disk of: | jms@vanth.uucp | "You know I never knew Jim Shaffer, Jr. | amix.commodore.com!vanth!jms | that it could be so 37 Brook Street | uunet!cbmvax!amix!vanth!jms | strange..."
