I am running DNet 2.01 and am having trouble getting cliterm to run. Dnet runs fine, I've sent and grabbed files with putfiles and getfiles fine. All seems fine, except cliterm. If I start cliterm from the cli, my friends computer crashes, if he starts cliterm, I get an error in the cli saying error 20 unable to load NewShell. I have DPipe: mounted, and Pipe:, also Newcon:. Oh yeah, Null: is mounted also. I think that's all that needs to be specially mounted. I'm running >2.02 (am I allowed to say this?) on a 2500. Are there any know problems with DNet and >=2.0? If there is any info I forgot to mention then please ask. Anybody that can help, please do.

Ok, I have the Dnet archive from uunet.uu.net downloaded and un-lharced. Now I have some questions. Firstly: Do you HAVE to compile certain parts of Dnet or is everything that is necessary in dnet:amiga/bin? If you do have to compile it, can I use something other than Lattice? Will DICE work? I have Manx 3.4a or something, and I'm clueless about porting things to work with different compilers. Secondly: What about the files that are listed in .distfiles for some of the directories like s:? I can see no 'dnet.servers' or 'dnet.config' files anywhere in the archive,{ what am I missing? -jas -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel Jalkut -- Amiga guy | "And didn't I read that these devices snozer@toast.santa-cruz.ca.us /// | go two way and everything I do or say 408-429-8628 -- Day /// | is goin' on a tape somewhere right now 408-423-6926 -- Night \XX/ | planted in my cavities?" -- LARD -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, has anyone out there got DNET up and running on a sun4 or sparcstation running sunOS 4.0+s ? If so what version od DNET are you using. I have 2.1, and am wondering if there is a more recent one. I haven't managed to get it running. If you got DNET from a fred fish disk, what # was the disk. thanks. Atul (email atul@cadence.com)

If so what version od DNET are > you using. dnet-2.20 (available via anonymous ftp from ftp.uu.net in /amiga-sources/dillon/) works ok on my Sun4/75 running SunOS 4.1.1. There's some timing/protocol problems when running at high speeds (like 9600bps) over dirty phone lines that I haven't solved yet, but other than occasional lockups, it works ok... By the way, comp.sys.amiga is dead. Use comp.sys.amiga.datacomm. ...tad

Has anyone been able to get DNet running on SYSV.4? I could get it compiled past the socket stuff with a BSD switch, but it still got sonfused when dealing with terminal sizes... The biggest problem I had was in connecting back to the amiga from the Solbourne, if you hit the Ctrl-C key the dnet program on the unix side would go crazy and eat about 90% of the CPU. I doubt they're as bad as the ones I use, which are almost certainly tickling a protocol error. ...tad

When I got it (yesterday) the README file told me that it was still 2.10. Needless to say I was very disappointed. After using 2.00 for the past 1.5 years (and having it work quite well), I was ready for an upgrade. Maybe if Matt is reading this.. Is there a REAL update to DNET. I would like to see a new version that is stable under 2.0. I would also like to see added support for SYSV Unix because that's all I have access to. Could these be possible? I had to recompile everything (and fix some bugs) before I got it to work. I also fixed snfs.c (Unix side).
