Aha! I found something else new with 2.03. There is a "CPU" command in my sys:c directory that I'm sure wasn't there before. Typing "cpu" by itself reports my cpu type, my fpu type, and the status of my caches. This is lovely, but I'm sure that I could use this command to futz with the caches, turning them on or off. However, this just isn't going to happen with no documentation. I don't know the options. I vaguely remember some method for getting a standard command to print out its options, but it wouldn't tell me what they mean. So: How do I get documentation for the new stuff in 2.03? For that matter, where do I get a listing of just what has actually changed? Is there some set of (paper) manual pages I can use as an update? If this sort of thing doesn't exist, am I going to have to wait until the ROMs are burned, then get it? Dan Zerkle zerkle@iris.eecs.ucdavis.edu (916) 754-0240 Amiga... CACHE/S,BURST/S,NOCACHE/S,NOBURST/S,DATACACHE/S,DATABURST/S,NODATACACHE/S, NODATABURST/S,INSTCACHE/S,INSTBURST/S,NOINSTCACHE/S,NOINSTBURST/S,FASTROM/S, NOFASTROM/S,TRAP/S,NOTRAP/S,NOMMUTEST/S,CHECK/K: I don't think this stuff is in the autodocs, though. Pity. DOS is a problem, anyway, as C= sold the exclusive ublication rights or something like that. :-< -- Peter da Silva. `-_-' <peter@sugar.hackercorp.com>.

Howdy, From what I've seen, the cpu command is "nothing" more than an update to setcpu. Most of the options look the same, and I've been using it as if it was the same. I didn't recall seeing any specific documentation on cpu in the system software manual that came with my 3000, but I easily could have missed it in my rush to play :)...... ^^^ a drooling smiley Rob

I remember seeing it on the demo system setup at our retail store. I don't believe there was any printed documentation on it in the A3000 manuals but there might be a READ.ME file on one of the original (or current) Workbench disks that describes it. I know that it is a lot like Dave Haynies SetCPU (found on a Fred Fish disk) so you might want to find SetCPU on a Fred Fish disk and use its docs to help figure out CPU. > > Dan Zerkle zerkle@iris.eecs.ucdavis.edu (916) 754-0240 > Amiga... Perhaps the CPU command on 2.03 is just for applications to use as a reference...Instead of releasing 3 or 4 versions of one program to use with various machines (020/030/000).. Go figure. Arctangent..
