Does there exist a listing of what programs and utilities are now compatible with WB2.0. I know there is a list of games but don't remember if it (or another list) had other programs also. I'm sure there is great interest in this right now, so re-posting a list would probably be welcome by many. I know of only one program for certain (Kiernan Holland was apparently having other problems which he simply blamed on 2.0). It is Whap!, the CompuServe reader program, which will not work properly on an A3000. The only other program I had problems with is CED, and I'm not sure if that was fixed. That is only including commercial programs. A list would be a waste of time at this time. When 2.0 goes to ROM and it is released for all of the amiga computers, then a list makes sense. > >>Thanks, >> >>---Mike >> >>-- >> | Michael Figg DSAC-FSD >>My Karma ran over your Dogma! | DLA Systems Automation Center >> | Cols, Ohio mfigg@dsac.dla.mil >> | CIS: 73777,360 > > > -- Ethan > > The constitution isn't perfect, but > it's better than what we have now. -mark= +--------+ ================================================== | \/ | Mark D. I've tried about 8 programs so far and three haven't worked. These are: 1. DiskMaster :-( 2. ls 4.0 another :-( although I'm rewritting it. 3. Less 1.2 Was there a 1.3? I thought so. but then I thought I was using it. Some of the programs that have worked include (those that I remember). 1. CED, at least for me it does 2. MuchMore (Nicer than 'less', but takes over the screen - might be something in 2.0 that does this though) 3. TurboMandel (What good would a 3000 be if you couldn't do fast mandelbrots) 4. Browser Has anybody tried SID? > Has anybody tried SID? I'd like something to replace DiskMaster.
I'm running it under 2.0, but I have a 2000. Dunno how it does on
the 3000. It has some good features -- I love how you can just double-click
on a file and have it display it (it figures out on the fly whether it's
text or IFF, if it doesn't seem to be neither, it punts and calls it
binary), but also some bad features. There doesn't seem to be a "PARENT"
gadget, for one thing... it sometimes becomes difficult to navigate. It
also closes its window and re-opens and redraws it every time the window is
selected (i.e, you select another window, diddle, re-select SID's window,
and it goes PLOOP).
Ironically, version 1.0 of DiskMaster, circa 1987, works perfectly under
2.0. It's only the later versions that die. This is similar to TxEd... the
original TxEd works fine, it's only TxEd+ that dies. It seems to me that
some "improvements" aren't improvements at all, eh?

Diskmaster does work under AmigaDOS 2.0! I have diskmaster V1.4, and it works great. CED had early problems, but there was a fix released. CrossDOS works GREAT under 2.0. The one program that causes me a pain under 2.0 is MED. I have to restart under Amidos 1.3 to use it. What a pain....
