A BBS is not anywhere nearly as easily accessable as FTP for the primary distribution site. I'd fear that if CBM were to open a BBS with an 800 number, the odds of getting through would be pretty slim. I run a fairly decent (IMHO) BBS and about 60-70 callers per day is all a single line can handle with a reasonable time limit per call. I'm really mainly just interested in making sure that if such a newsgroup were to come into existance, we need to plan on archiving the information and making it available for those who might miss some of the messages, or who don't have access to that particular newsgroup.
