[comp.sys.amiga.misc] purchase

Just got off the phone with a person who works at montgomery grant because
I wrote a letter to Amigaworld and Compute about a problem I had with Superbase
<they sold me a very old version of it that is no longer supported> and
basically came away pissed off. I had purchased a C128D from them years ago and
there was no warranty sticker in the packaging or on the machine. The rep
claimed it could have fallen off. <hah. My 1571 drive didnt have one either...>

Incidentally does anyone have Superbase V1.0 or have used it? the booklet
refers to "dongle" protection but my packaging did not come with a dongle and
it appears to work just fine. Pointing this out to Mr Abraham did absolutely
nothing to help resolve my case. Supposedly "Amiga world agrees with us (MG)"
is what he said and leaves me somewhat perturbed.

I do know that this package <the box containing superbase> was shrinkwrapped
at least 2 times. When software comes from the company, they dont have white
stickers that say:

__________
HORSXP

ASI

RA AS
--------

Incedentally the price sticker <~$80> covered this and there had been a "cut"
in the shrink wrap that fit this sticker. <shrug>
what to do now...
