Ok, here's some good "idiot" questions.... First, did AmigaDOS 2.0 ever come out for systems other than the 3000? And if so, how much is it and what does it take to run it? Related to this, and actually my original question: What exactly is AREXX and what is it used for? I hear about it all the time, and everyone seems to love it. Though not (yet) an expert, I dare to answer. Rexx (and its Amiga implementation ARexx) is at first sight a normal, interpreted programming language with all the features a language needs. But it provides some special features that enable it to serve as a scripting and control language, too. It can control other applications the same way a user would do, and it can receive inputs from applications that it again can interpret to give other apps the real kick. So this language is going to become the magic glue that allows multitasking to further enhance its benefits. As far as I know, Rexx comes from the IBM mainframe scene and is well known and used there.
