I have had almost the same problem as you have. Blink crashed while linking and managed to overwrite the root block on my harddisk :-(. AmigaDOS said: Not a dos disk in unit .... I doubt that Quarterback Tools will fix your problem. It has quite a lot of bugs, and may actually crash itself...doing more harm than gain. It seems to me that it works well with some harddisk and/or controllers, but will refuse to work with other hardware. My advice is: Use FixDisk V1.2. It has fixed my harddisk more than 10 times the last few months (due to numerous BLink and Lattice crashes). Every time, it has done a very well job. FixDisk will not manage to fix a rootblock that has been overwritten/ moved. Therefore you should first start FixDisk, telling it to "Wipe all deleted files". This will assure you that unwanted files will not appear when undeleting. Now: Jump into CLI and write; FORMAT drive DHx: name DHx QUICK NOICONS ... be SURE to include the QUICK option. Otherwise you will not only clear the root block, but actually the whole disk. Start FixDisk once again, telling it to undelete all files. It will now restore all files onto your harddisk again, and fix the rootblock as well. T.Lodberg (disclaimer: I'm not responsible for whatever happens, but it worked for me :-)
