[net.test] Hunting the wild truncation bug

donn@sdchema.UUCP (03/02/84)

Now that I have run this test from ucbvax to sdchema, I want to
try it in the reverse direction. Since I haven't received any help
from the busy folks at decvax, I might as well do all I can to acquire
as much data as I can through other avenues. The test will show the
following: if this article appears truncated on ittvax, then ittvax is
the article chopper, since I know that sdchema, sdcsvax and dcdwest
have all installed the bug fix; if this test is untruncated at ittvax
and truncated at ucbvax, then decvax is the article chopper. If this
test is untruncated all the way to ucbvax then something is wrong with
the test, since articles going the reverse direction get chopped. I
hope this is enough text to get the bug exercised, if it requires a
certain amount of bulk to the article as is implied by the bug report.

I will send a letter to the people at ittvax and decvax asking
them to send me their copy of this article. If you are reading this on
ittvax or decvax you can save me some time by mailing this off to me
now...

ill see whether decvax's
neighbors see only a truncated version of this article. My list of
possible sites with the bug is narrowing rapidly...
