[comp.sys.amiga.introduction] INFO WANTED: Amiga 3000 Unix

4171ay@gmuvax.gmu.edu (06/16/91)

Does anyone out there no what the average going rate for the
Amiga 3000 Unix machine is? And what does that include? I am really
interested in this machine but have next to no information on it. I have
heard that a colour version of X-Windows, supposedly faster than the
current release of mono X, should be out soon but there was mention of
a certain graphics card needed for it. Is this card included on the Unix
box? If not, how much extra is it? Any and all info on the Amiga Unix
machine would be GREATLY appreciated...

There are two models, the 3000UX-B and the 3000UX-D. The
"B" comes with 5MB RAM (1 chip) and a 100MB HD. The "D" comes
with 9MB RAM (1 chip) and a 200MB HD. On the educational discount
for students, the "B" costs $4003. The "D" is $5095. They both
come with Ethernet.
They currently come with X11R3 mono. Once 2.0 is released
you should have R4 and color, up to the Amiga's normal
resolutions. For better, Commodore will be marketing the A2410
which is 1024x768 or so with 256/16.7M and a 3 color overlay.
Also there is a TI34010 processor in it. No information on
availability or price is available.
