I am looking for a hardware/software solution to do what we call motion analysis. Basically, we have a video tape that is automatically digitized. Any 'objects' on the field of view can be distinguished by the software. Some sort of algorithm is used to then compare successive frames and decide whether each object has moved. You can then calculate such things as centroids, paths of centroids, acceleration (linear and angular), velocities, distances from a reference point, and other such items. Currently we have an outdated system based on a Sun 2/130 (does that tell you 'how' outdated we are?) that we are needing to replace. I have been thinking that with the excellent video and graphics capabilities of the Amiga, there might be systems out there based on it. Does anyone know of anything that might be like this? Any information would be appreciated. If there's enough interest I will post a summary.
