Just wanted to send out a big thanks to all who "posted" and responded directly to me regarding my request for info on the 3000UX! I've learned of a local dealer opening early next month, so am looking forward to getting hands on. Aside from the Lowell board, does anyone have any experience with any of the other display boards? I'd be particularly interested in the new 24-bit boards: o Being new to this machine (read - please forgive the blatant ignorance), but I've read about some special chips that handle the graphics (Denise, Agnus????) and am curious as to what happens when you add one of these 24-bit boards. Are these chips used anymore? o Does a new driver merely "steer" away from them? o Is there a difference between the way this is handled in AmigaDos vs. UNIX? o Are the 24-bit display boards even accessible from UNIX?
