Maybe rightly so, however if you want to learn about stereotypes of Italy in Great Britain you just have to watch the BBC show "Summer lease" now running on PBS. The show is based on a novel by John (?) Mortimer. It is said that in Siena the "idrico" (the water company run by the Godless communists) does not give you a monthly bill, but you have to pay a bribery if you want water in your house. In Siena if you don't like somebody you pay some money to a truck driver and he will manage to run over that person at the first occasion. The police will never bother to investigate. People in Siena are either ugly looking when young or dumb looking riding the back of a moped when old. Of course everybody speaks with funny accents from everywhere but Siena. I love my British European brothers!
