I have tidied up my complete-FAX-to-PBM conversion program "cpctopbm" and posted it to alt.sources. This will take the incoming fax files from the PC product "The Complete FAX" - which are not stored in G3 FAX format but rather a private bitmap encoding - and convert them to the PBM Portable BitMap format. There are a wide variety of tools available that can deal with PBM files - you can convert them to postscript, display them in an X window, etc etc. We've got "The Complete FAX" installed on a pc on our local ethernet, and I'm working on some other tools to retrieve the faxes automatically, convert them, print them on postscript printers and so on. "pbmtocpc" is a logical next step, but I haven't written that yet. Note that "The Complete PC" people seem to support 3 different (yet similar) file formats - Type 1 is FAX, and that's what this program handles. Types 2 and 3 have something to do with scanners but I don't have anything to test those with. I probably should have called this program "cpcfaxtopbm" or something.
