[comp.dcom.fax] Convert FAX file on PC to text - possible?

psyeoh@ubvmsd.cc.buffalo.edu (Lam Yeoh) (12/21/90)

I have an Everex FAX/Modem (G3). I don't have any trouble sending
or receiving faxes, but I found that I don't have any utilities that
will allow me to convert the incoming fax into text form so that I
can edit the document to make some changes.

Printing the document out and editing it doesn't do me any good.
I don't have the original document on disk - so I'd have to re-key
the whole thing in or go to a standalone fax machine if I want to
send the changes back to the sender.

Does anybody know of a way out of this mess - besides buying a
standalone fax?

Happy Holidays and Thanks.

Calera WordScan Plus will read in fax images - pretty sexy stuff (need
Windows to run)
