Depending on the fax software you use, there might be an easier way. My fax software can read .PCX-Files. I can generate those directly using the DVIMSP-driver from the emTeX-package. And that is free, whereas GoScript is a commercial program. If you are using a PC and are not using emTeX, it may be worth a look anyway. If you don't know where to get it, that's one of the FAQs in comp.text.tex, so look there. Harald
