I bought a UF-127 last month for home use, and made it share a phone line with my answering machine. One primary reason for buying the UF-127 is that it has the Telephone Answering Machine Interface, thus saving my answering machine (which is also a Panasonic) from obsolescence. It worked very well between my office and home, but my friends abroad complained about their machines reporting NO RESPONSE from mine when they try to fax me. The fax at my office is a straight forward fax, no phone, no nothing, thus relatively dumb. Does anyone out there has some experience with this thing, especially when interacting with Phone/Faxen ? The relevant parameters on my machine are: TAM Interface ON Silent Detection OFF I used to have Silent Detection ON, unfortunately that made the fax portion come on when there is a gap of silence of a few seconds on the answering machine, and the TAM will record the fax's beeps. Otherwise it is a neat little machine, pretty good for the price. Help, anyone ?
