Initially I wanted to wait until I have one of these things but since there
where quite some requests:

I now have the information sheet on this multifunction machine with me, so

Is this standard resolution?  I thought G3 was 4 lines/mm or 8 lines/mm.
Is it common for "G3" machines to have "near"-standard resolutions?

Yes, this is what T.4 calls for (3.85 or 7.7 lines/mm).
