[comp.dcom.fax] Faxing -*WITHOUT*- additional hardware?

nicholas@bilby.cs.uwa.oz.au (Nicholas Yue) (04/19/91)

G'day,
I was wondering if it is possible to generate fax to a given telephone number
without the use of additional hardware e.g. modems, etc...
Is it possible to use existing facilities like TCP/IP etc..., or program like
tip. Any ideas, comments??
I have got program to generate the fax itself, e.g. pbmplus, etc..
Thanks In Advance.

Please e-mail me if possible

A fax machine is a modem, with its standard modulation-demodulation
method. You can create the bitmap, but if this bitmap is not turned from
digital to analogue you can not send it to another fax machine through the
telephone lines.
