I have utilized the fax modem with a Sparc Server 4/330. It worked well, and we had some pretty early software. We received an update just as I was leaving my previous employer for new opportunities, so I am not sure what the updates involved. The system (with older software) was pretty smart, as well as flexible. It seems to be aimed towards the Workstations, but includes a mail front end for those without workstations. It utilizes X-windows (Open-look on my Sun) for some file manipulation. I wrote a front end of my own that would check the databases and such, include files, and allow composition from a menu. The flexibility of the Faxmodem product allowed me to customize the program nicely since the Faxmodem's interface really is just "Unix mail". Typical disclaimer, I am just a customer that liked the product and the helpfulness of the people at Perfect Byte. I will no doubt buy another since I am at another company. You can reach Perfect Byte via email, something like "pbi.com". Ask for a guy named "Mike" ( a real neat name!). --Mike
