[bionet.genome.chrom22] Sequencing on Chromosome 22

BROE@AARDVARK.UCS.UOKNOR.EDU (Bruce Roe) (01/23/91)

Hi,
I'm glad to see the Chromosome 22 Bulletin Board up an running since
we are involved in sequencing the bcr gene on 22 in a collaboration
with John Groffen's group. He has supplied us with clones covering
the region (exons and introns) and at present we are hard at sequencing
them.
We also are sequencing the c-abl gene on Chromosome 9 and several clones
containing 9Q:22 chromosomal translocation break points.
If anyone out there has clones containing c-abl/bcr chromosomal break
points we would be interested in hearing from them and trying to arrange
to sequence them.
I should caution however that our actual sequencing is going much slower
that we would like as we have been trying to automate as many of the
methods as we can and been developing more accurate methods for sequencing.
Good luck to all you mappers out there and hopefully once you have the
map, those of us who are sequencers will be ready.

Best regards to one and all,
        Bruce A. Roe
