[comp.sys.acorn] HASWIN complete, upgrades ready, BBS or server anyone?

has@ukc.ac.uk (H.A.Shaw) (12/08/90)

I would like to thank all those who got back to me with regard to the
HASWIN WIMP and graphics library. Especialy Albert Koelmaus at Newcastle.
I have taken note of the comments and now have a new release available. I am
not sure how to do the upgrade in the easist way.

The upgrade does the following things.
	1) printf() like interface to the graphics drawing routine
	      haswin_addgraphics().
	2) Windows can have text overlays that are handled as 2-D arrays of
characters and are drawn automatically by HASWIN. Each window
has a VDU stream like interface and a printf() like interface.
	3) Text overlays can be scrolled in any of the four directions and
	      insert/delete character/line routines are included.
	4) The restriction that user code is only called if HASWIN can find
nothing else to do is lifted. User routines can be called even
if HASWIN performs an automatic action for the user program.
	5) Yet more sections to the manual. Most of the code even does what
the manual says it does :-)
	6) Loads of bug fixes and little enhancements.

The upgrade consists of a new source file to do the text bits and
modifications to most of the other files including the makefile and the
include files. There is a new, and more complete manual. I have a 70K or so
diff file, the new source file and the manual. I think it is just about
email-able but the diffs cover many files and would be quite difficult to put
in by hand.

If the people who have HASWIN write or email me they can state a preference
for the diffs or send me a disc for a complete upgrade less the demo programs
that you already have. If I don't get any more feedback with regrad to things
missing and bugs I will consider HASWIN more-or-less complete. It does
everything I require for my PhD. so I don't want to spend much more development
time on it. As I discover bugs I will fix them so there might be another
release, but not for some time. Thanks for all everyones help and comments.

Now it is complete I need somewhere to put it so anyone who needs it can
have it. I think I would like the source to be distributed, and of cource the
manual. Is there a server or a BBS out there who would take it?
