While we are on the subject of large uuencoded files, I would like to
comment on a certain annoying problem !Spark has with them: I have a bog
standard A310, 1Mb, floppy only system (not even a MEMC1a :-( ) and when
I went to decode that font file, it ran into a little trouble. The reason
for this is !Spark likes to put the decoded file in the same directory as
the source uuencoded file. There was not enough room on one floppy for
both encoded and decoded files, so I had to visit someone with an A3000
(2 Mb) and decode the file into their RAM disc.
I presume the uudecode utility would not have this problem (you can
specify separate source and destination paths)?
The problem was particularly annoying after having spent 3/4 hour
capturing the font file in the first place (well at least I had turned
the "[more]" prompt off! :-) )
Cheers, Julian.
