[comp.sys.acorn] DOS

csf195@cck.cov.ac.uk (Mirrir) (01/28/91)

Is there anyone out there who can help me with a little problem ?

I need a DOS program that can write files to a disk in either DFS or ADFS
formats.

This is so I can transfer software and work from our UNIX system to a PC
(using Kermit) then copy them to a DFS or ADFS disk so that I can run them
on my BBC Master 128.

I know there is software available on the market but I'm a very poor student
who can't afford to buy 20 pound software for such a menial task.

Can anyone surply me something to do this cheaply !!!????

PLease !!!

Thanks...

Why dont you just download the software, using kermit, to a BBC straight from
the system ???
There are, I believe, a couple of archaic BBC's still linked to the system.....

Basicly Chris I've already tryed this, I used to do it last year when the
4 or 5 beebs' had disc drives, but now they've removed the drives and the
interfaces( so I can't even bring my drive in!). I've tryed using <TAPE>
but I can't get anything to load again after saving it !!!

This is why I need the program detailed above, as the only micros with drives
and kermit left are PC's.

I'm still hoping that someone has a program that they'll sell me for cheap or
give me or on shareware.

Any helpers.....

Thanks...
