I want to replace the keyboard handler that decodes the key numbers into ASCII with "OS_InstallKeyNumber" because I think that's the best way to change the keyboard layout. But for the PRM "it is outside the scope of this manuel to discuss the procedure in depth" (page 468) Indeed it isn't discussed in any way (page 538)! Can anyone give me information about this OS-Routine? If not using OS_InstallKeyHandler, what is the best way to change the layout of the keyboard? RiscOs provides many "countries and keyboards" but especially the german handler isn't that good (no < > ~ but the useless pound- sign!) I saw a module which claimed the ReadC-vector, but that changes the Code of every input stream, but I only want to change the keyboard layout. I heard about the !IKHG (International Keyboard Handler Generator) and asked the Acorn Customer Service (yes I got an answer!) about it, but it is not freely available (why not?)
