I've ported UnZip 4.01 across to the Archimedes, it should be available as soon as AG makes his mind up upon the postings format for comp.binaries. acorn, (by that time it'll be too late - I'll suppose I'll get it back & have to repackage it in the !Submit/!Extract format). Well anyway, I've tried it out and it works. I've also ported that 68000 development package - it's pretty crude and is *NOT* an Atari ST emulator. What it allows you to do is run/watch very simple, basic 68000 code - no I/O, only emulates the 68000 instructio n set. However for those of you doing CS practicals involving this 68000 code it may be useful for testing routines. (32 bit division ?) There's a new version of 'asc' - which is a simple program to convert DOS/UNIX text files into Archimedes textfile format by manipulating the CR/LF combinations - it copes with CR,LF,CR+LF,and LF+CR. It also has the option to expand TAB's properly - similar to Twin/Edit's Expand Tab's facility. 'fcp' is a protected disk copier - it needs 800k of workspace and thus is limited to A410's +. However it is about as fast as *BACKUP, faster than *FORMAT and pretty reliable, if not barebones - non-desktop. For those who obtain SHAR'd sources and want to unpack them I've written a program 'exshar' which does just that - coping with the majority of standard formats, eg sed & cat. It also partially deals with some of the other commands in a shar file. An old version is available from newcastle but if asked I'll post the newer one. Some time ago I wrote 'find' - a file find utility. This has been improved slightly, debugged, etc. It also allows you to apply a * command to every file/directory found. Again an older version is available from newcastle. 'emf' is an e-mail block file extractor. It extracts the individual e-mail messages from a single file and saves them in a separate directory. It understands Lancaster pdsoft file formats - creating a similar directory structure. Steve van Aardt.
