I am having big problems with asd (the acorn symbolic debugger), It doesnt seem to be able to cope with large executables. I have a compiled gnu emacs, which Ive spent a lot of time on, the executable is 1.2 megabytes in size with all the debug info included. Machine is a 4megabyte A540 The problem is this:- *asd temacs Loading temacs ASD: ptrace Failed to allocate Heap (Size=20) * Does asd *really* take 2 megs of workspace???! Whatever I do with the memory arrangement I just cant get it to work. Its rather dissapointing as emacs was almost completed, why doesnt the Arc have a debugger that knows how to swap temporary files in and out like on the amiga? Any suggestions appreciated Andy
