Dear Place It fans (and others),
I have nearly finished Place It version two. It has these new features
Faster background sprite plotting where possible (ie sprite has current
palette and/or aspect ratio)
The ability to select several icons using a drag box.
A modular interface allowing extensions to be written to Place It which you
may or may not load (thus saving memory if you do not want to use that
feature). There is extensive documentation on how to write you own modules.
But if you do I would appreciate if you send me the module and source so I
can check it and automatically update it if I have to change the modular
interface.
Modules to
provide fish (or sharks) on the backdrop like Wander
provide a clock (like iconclock on the backdrop)
Now the crunch. I may not get this finished before I get kicked out of
here to go and look for a job in the real world (does anyone know a firm
wanting to employ a graduate with a first class Honours Degree in Mathematics
and Computer Science?).
So could anyone wanting a copy of version two send me some mail

P.S. I have more modules planned (such as one for commands and one to allow
text footnotes to be put on the backdrop, the two people who suggested
these will know who they are)
P.P.S. Thanks to all the people who donated money for Place It. It will be
put to a good cause giving holidays to 180 children who really need a break
this summer. But as ever more money is still needed, and most welcome.
