Can someone help me with a NetWare 286 problem? I am having a problem installing new workstations on a NetWare 286 Advanced Netware network. I have 6 workstations which all have the same hardware configuration. They are: NCR PC386sx MC 20 PCs IBM Token Ring 16/4 Adapters 100 Meg SCSI hard drives IBM Token Ring Drivers v.2.50 NCR DOS 4.01 On 4 of the workstations, the ipx and xmsnet4 work fine. On the other two, xmsnet4 hangs the PC. I have tried making the config.sys and autoexec.bat files identical on the non-working stations to those on the working ones. The config.sys files look like: DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS BREAK=ON FILES=20 BUFFERS=20 LASTDRIVE=E SHELL=C:\DOS\COMAND.COM /P /E:256 DEVICE=C:\DOS\ANSI.SYS INSTALL=C:\DOS\FASTOPEN.EXE C:=(50,25) and the autoexec.bat files look like: SET COMSPEC=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM VERIFY OFF PATH C:\DOS;C:\WP51;C:\NET; PPEND /E APPEND C:\DOS PROMPT $P$G VER MOUSE CALL TLOGIN CD\AUTOMENU AUTO and my TLOGIN.BAT file is pretty straightforward: @ECHO OFF CD\NET IPX XMSNET4 ... more but it hangs here. I can use net4 on these workstations, but I would like to free up more of the memory for applications. Any ideas or suggestions? -- * Karen S.
