A division at Miami is considering implementation of a 200+ node Novel lan consisting of mostly MS-DOS systems with a few Macintosh computers. The clients will need tcp/ip wide area services for telnet (vt100, and tn3270) and ftp. Presumably there will be a mail system in use that we will bridge wide area mail (smtp) to. The Mac's are a no brainer. The MS-DOS computers are much harder tp specify. My question? Has anyone out there sucessfully implemented Novel client software with something approaching a "standard" tcp/ip stack on an MS-DOS computer? I'm also interested in any mail recommendations you might have for this system. Many thanks for the info. P.S. As an alternative to implementing directly on the MS-DOS computers we would reluluctantly accept some kind of gateway system.

We plan to run IPX/SPX for novell and then use a pd package to do tcp/ip comms with our other machines here on campus. Chris
