Is anyone aware of any problems with running NetWare 386 v3.1A on an IBM PS/2 Model 80 with IBM's SCSI adapter and drive? We've got a dept. that brings up the server OK (all was installed OK) but after about an hour or so of activity the packet receive buffers goes thru the roof; no matter what value you increase the maximum to, it exceeds it; eventually, nothing gets thru ---- no one can log in, you can't map a drive, no disk activity, and eventually the routing table information goes away as well. HOWEVER, the server console is not locked up; I can load MONITOR and see those packet receive buffers going up when anyone (unsuccessfully) tried to access the server. I tried dismounting the volume, then remounting it, and all was well again....for a while; then it died again. The version of PS2SCSI.DSK that we WERE using is dated 6/8/90 (file size: 9556 bytes). Checking through my stuff from CompuServe, I found a newer PS2SCSI.DSK (dated 11/14/90 (file size: 9547 bytes)). BUT, when we loaded this newer driver, you couldn't log in at all. Again, the server shows up on the list of servers and you can run the system console just fine --- you just can't access the disk. Anyone else seen this? Any thoughts? Maybe a hardware problem? -- Jim Gogan (gogan.dvc@mhs.unc.edu) Univ. of North Carolina
