A Novell ELS installation here has a strange problem that only occurs when attempting to print. Immediately following a print, the messages: ABEND - NE2000 DMA FAILURE REBOOT SYSTEM RUNNING PROCESS ROUTER are displayed on the server, and the server is hung. This is a non-dedicated server, which has an NE2000 card in it, and all workstations have NE2000 cards. This error occurs whenever ANY workstation attempts to print. Other than the print problem, the network services work fine. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on here? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I had a problem with this on one of my fileservers as well. The solution is one of two things according to Novell. The first is there is a jumper on the ne2000 card that deals with systems that have chips and technologies chip sets. This jumper needs to be removed if you have this. The jumper is w16. If this does not work replace the card. This is what we ended up doing. Hope this is helpful. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Neuburger Voice: 503/346-4394 Workgroup Network Engineer Internet: mjn@oregon.uoregon.edu Office of University Computing Bitnet: mjn@oregon University of Oregon 1225 Kincaid FAX: 503/346-3127 Eugene, OR 97403
