[comp.sys.novell] changing system date

One of my customers would like to change the system date on a 

    Novell ELS II Network
    386 File Server, DOS 4.01

using the 'date' command. (he doesn't want his biz partners to know that
he is working on sundays... :-))

now, if he decreases the date, it may happen that the system 
(nondedicated server) cannot boot correctly. experiences? hints?
