We are experiencing a problem with slow response from a Netware v3.10 file server. The server is a 386/33 Mylex mainboard with a 600MB Imprimis SCSI drive off a WD-7000 FASST board and an SMC PC500FS short board Arcnet adapter. The problem is intermittent and seems to be coincident with sharp increases in the number of timed out hardware transmits statistic in the LAN information screen of monitor. The problem does not seem to be related to any one workstation. I replced the PC500FS long board that had been in the file server with the short board and the problem went away for about three days, then returned. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
