You MUST place this setting in the STARTUP. NCF > only. It will not work in the AUTOEXEC.NCF. Using Novell 386 3.1 you'll get the message "Outstanding ncp searches can not be set in STARTUP.NCF" ?? I have the problem that I get the "exceed outstanding....limit" warning while running a bbs in a network more and more often. I already raised NCP up to 700 and had no trouble for more than a year, but now (while unpacking messages) this warning appears each night. ANY idea greatly appreatiated!
