I have a PS/2 50z that had a bad system board. We got the
board replaced, I took my reference diskette with the token
ring option in it and ran autoconfig, and re-booted.
Now, when I power on, I get the message:
DXMC0 11E: DIR.INITIALIZE failed
Error in Loading - Press F1 to continue
Pressing F1 results in unsuccessful an unsuccessful attempt to run
IPX, and eventually a C:\> prompt.
Does anyone know where the problem most likely lies, or what I have
to do to track it down, before spending the $$ to call up a service
company? If your answers can be put in cookbook form, I'd appreciate
it - I really don't understand all the functions of the various
.SYS files.
Thanks a lot.
