I hope this is the right newsgroup for this, my apologies if it is not. I am trying to install Oracle on our Novell network without any success. We are running Novell ANW 2.15C on a 386 clone with OS/2 and OS/2 Requester ver 1.2 on another 386 clone. These are connected to a host of diskless PC/AT clone with DOS 3.3, IPX and Net3 ver 3.02. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has sucessfully installed Oracle in a similar setup. Basically I am unable to connect from the workstations to the Oracle Server. SQLPME & SQLSPX seems to load ok, when I did sqldba it comes back with DBA - 00314: unable to attach to default host and when I try to force connect by doing "connect scott/tiger@X:Mktg_SRV" from SQLDBA the workstation would hang. Please note that I have not changed anything from the installation default. On the OS/2 Server SQLDBA would startup ok, the I did spxsrv. When I did the connect scott.... from the workstation it would report the following: Connection request received. shadow Process 1 starting on server Mktg_SRV Then after soem time it would report: ** Shadow Process 1 finished. Connection closed. Any suggestion would be gratefully received, the local Oracle support person haven't been able to help so far as she is not familiar with Novell. Her setup is with 3COM+. Incidentally the Novell Server and OS/2 Requester/Oracle Server machines both have 8MB RAM and the workstations 4MB. Philip P.H.
