Am trying to get IDE drives to work under Novell on a PC to later connect in to other systems. Apparently a problem with Novell whereby it will not recognize drive types 48 and 49 (the user definable entries) in setup. Supposedly there are patches one can install that allows it to in fact work with types 48 and 49 (apparently fakes out the last place in CMOS for the drive check to occur). We need type 48 because we have a large drive that does not fit within the standard CMOS table. If anyone knows of such a patch, please forward either patch or info on where to get details.
