PSI(Performance Systems International) offers a pretty decent solution to this problem. They call it LAN-DCS. You need to configure a workstation as a router using something like Netblazer. And then you'd need to also put some TCP/IP application software on the net. After the router was dialed up into the local terminal server all the remote user needs to do is dial up the nearest terminal server to his locale and Telnet or Ftp into the LAN which is now an official Internet node. Using modem compression techniques the dsata transfer rate could be as high as 19.2Kbps. Of course you need to pay the monthly fee for the access, but if you have users that are out of town you'll save the LD charges. Bob Scipioni.
