[comp.sys.novell] Q: Novell on Token Ring

Hi,

I understand that Novell has tried compliance with IEEE specifications
in their Token Ring implementations, but how fully compliant are they?

I think Novell has used two schemes of encapsulations in Token Ring:

 1) IPX inside 802.2 datagrams inside 802.5 MAC frames.

 2) IPX inside 802.2 datagrams with SNAP extensions inside 802.5 MAC frames.

Does anyone know which scheme is more prevalently used by Novell Clients
and Netware Servers?  

Also, where is source routing done? inside the driver?
