Does anyone have a specification of IPX (or, the protocol suite in general)? Failing that, does anyone have a list of the IPX type in use? In a posting, meyer@cambium.uoregon.edu (David M. Meyer) asks: > Does anyone have a specification of IPX (or, the protocol > suite in general)? There are descriptions of IPX and SPX in: _LAN Protocol Handbook_ Mark A. Miller, 1990 M&T Books (1-800-533-4372) _Programmer's Guide to NetWare_ Charles G. Rose, 1990 McGraw-Hill (1-800-2-MCGRAW) _NetWare System Interface Technical Overview_ Novell > Does anyone have a list of the IPX type in use? If you mean the packet type field in the IPX packet, these are the values: 0 Unknown packet 1 Routing Information Packet (RIP) 2 Echo packet 3 Error packet 4 Packet Exchange Packet (PEP) 5 Sequenced Packet Protocol (SPP) 16 - 31 Experimental 17 NetWare Core Protocol (NCP) Bruce Ring Gupta Technologies, Inc. bruce_h_ring@cup.portal.com
